System Requirements
Previous  Top  Next

Basically, EventConsolidator doesn't need very much ressources. Actually, there are more requirements to the software environment. You can monitor all Event Logs of operating systems since Windows 2000, including Windows Vista. Therefore the minimum requirements of the operating system do count in for EventConsolidator as well. The only downturn is the high amount of CPU speed required when reading the Event Logs. If you have huge amounts of log entries, the CPU load will stay high while indexing the entries.

- A common user account with administrative rights on every monitored machine and the local machine. Administrative rights are necessary to run the program. Under Windows Vista, EventConsolidator will ask for elevated administrative rights at the start of the application.
- The service Remote Registry must be set to "Automatic" and must be in running state (especially for Windows Vista). If this service is not running, the Application won't be able to access the EventLog of any machine.
- The machine must be accessible via your network. Please check your Firewall settings as well as the Windows Firewall settings.

Please Note that EventConsolidator is developped with XP and Vista and therefore fully supports these 2 operating systems. All other OS are not tested yet and it should be consumed with caution. Adiscon cannot be held responsible for damage caused on other OS than XP and Vista.

Please Note:
The above mentioned System Requirements are absolutely necessary for the operation of this Application. This is especially essential for Windows Vista. All machines must have a user account with administrative rights and it must be the same as the user account with which you start the application. Further it is a absolute must that the service "Remote Registry" is running and set to automatically start.
